About Bharathanatyam
Bharathanatyam, the oldest classical dance of India is literally poetry in motion. It is a stylized dance originating in the temples of South India, its poses immortalized in the sculptures of almost every traditional South Indian temple. This divine art was handed over as a living tradition from one generation to the next as this style was originated from Kalakshethra. Come learn from the best with Natiyakalmandram.

Bharatha decribed the fundamentals of the art as Bha--Bhava or expression, Ra-- raga or melody and Tha-- thala or rhythm .
The dance itself is divided in:
Nritta or hythmic movements of pure aesthetic value.
Nritya or movements in which facial expressions of emotions, and
Mudras, or hand gestures are emphasized and
Natya or dance with a dramatic aspect.
